Review Of Beginner To Blogger

As an aside to the static page that used to be here.
It was an eye opener to see what others thought of my efforts. I agree with most, if not all of what they suggested. The review was done by SSWT Elite members a paid membership site which will be the subject of a separate post and in any case at the moment the ability to join is closed.

I paid the going rate for “Beginner To Blogger” as I wouldn’t attempt to sell anything that I hadn’t used myself. I just wish that I would have had the ability to purchase it when I was starting out, it could have saved me a lot of time and trouble. If you can follow directions you will be rewarded with a functioning blog.

The author has better than 10 years in Web design and recommends WordPress for a variety of reasons not the least of which is ease of use, a 5 minute install procedure, numerous plug-ins for the platform and so forth. I concur with Traci Knoppe(the author) on this and in fact this blog is a WordPress blog. WordPress is periodically updated and presently is at 2.9.

WordPress is getting remarkably close to point & click.

Due to the way the course is setup it take 4 weeks to complete. A possible problem which can be easially solved by buying the DVD version. In all cases help is available from Traci if for any reason you have a problem.

Due note that this new post is a work in progress and since I hope to convince you that buying this is a good deal for you I will add that I am a affiliate for B to B and clicking any hyperlinks inside this post may result in a commission for me.

You will need to do several things after reaching WordPress.org, among them are clicking extend, then entering slickr-flickr in the search box, then following the usual to install a plug-in. Please do note that after activating the plug-in you still need to do several things to make a display. Follow the author’s instructions.

I say No. The more the better.

!. Get and use an External Hard Drive, the bigger the better.

2. Use one of the “Cloud” or Online options Mozy, SugarSync, Dropbox,Time Machine(Mac only)

3. For files you can’t afford to lose get a Memory Stick and use it to store any files that meet the criteria.

4. Same ideas for any web sites you have. Do a daily Database backup, do a Full backup which you both download and keep one in a file as a part of your Blog. Do a content backup.

Sure this is a belt and suspenders approach, but at least you’ll never lose your pants in real life nor your hard work on sites, computers, documents, etc.

this is a post to see if “BlogDesk” is working properly. Available at www.blogdesk.org.

There is the usual download, set-up and then you have to put in the usual URL, uername, password, etc. Less than five minutes and you have saved yourself several steps normally required prior to being able to post on your blog. Give it a try.
